CHINA CENTRAL TELEVISION (CCTV), BEIJING                                                       2016-2018

TV HOST/ PRESENTER

 

Host of the longest-standing live daily flagship arts and entertainment news program, Culture Express on the newly rebranded English-language international network, CGTN (China Global Television Network).  Broadcasted to a footprint of over 300 million households in China and over 80 million viewers in 100 countries around the world.

 

  • Reported on national and international cultural and entertainment news stories including major film
    festivals (Cannes, TIFF, Busan, Berlin) Fashion Weeks (Paris, New York) movie premieres, museum openings, art exhibitions, stage plays and musicals, dance events and concerts, festivals and culinary events.

  • Hosted and co-produced special coverage shows, including the 2017 G20 Summitin Hangzhou, China.

  • Pitched, secured, hosted, and produced exclusive reports on major arts, entertainment and cultural stories such as multi-part interview with former NBA star and Wild Aid ambassador Yao Ming on China’s first law banning the sale of all raw ivory. 

  • Won multiple network awards for interviewing and reporting work.

 

CHINA CENTRAL TELEVISION (CCTV), BEIJING                                                       2006-2010

ANCHOR/REPORTER         

 

Presented the English-language international network’s live daily sports news program Sports Sceneon the international news channel, CCTV News. Co-hosted the Olympic morning show 17 Days during the 2008 Summer Olympics. 

 

  • Anchored four live sports segments a day, including a 30-minute show, two 15 minute updates, and a 10 minute
    handover with the main news desk.

  • Reported on national and international sporting events and news stories.

  • Conducted exclusive one-on-one interviews with athletes and other sporting figures, such as interview with Kobe Bryant before Team USA’s historic participation in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. 

  • Received enhanced responsibility and exposure in the lead-up to the Beijing Olympics, including exclusive access
    to cover the construction and unveiling of several iconic venues ahead of the Games.

EMCEE AND MODERATOR

 

Emcee and moderator for YPO, the global platform for more than 25,000 chief executives world-wide to engage, learn and grow. Combined, YPO member-run companies employ 16 million people and generates USD6 trillion in annual revenues.

 

  • Served as emcee and moderator for the 2018 YPO Edge in Singapore – the organization’s premier annual global conference. Attended by members from more than 130 countries to address key issues in business, politics, science, technology, philanthropy and the humanities.  Moderated several panel sessions and introduced and bridged the key plenary sessions from speakers such as legendary tennis player Billy Jean King; Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan and the Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong.

  • Served as emcee for the 2016 YPO Beijing University. Attended by members from more than 40 countries to develop a deeper understanding of China across a variety of political, social, economic and cultural topics, with a special focus on the One Belt, One Roadinitiative.

Traffic reporter for the city’s only 24-hour all-news radio station. 

 

  • Delivered live traffic reports every 10 minutes “on the ones” to help drivers navigate the streets and highways of Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area

  • Received calls and traffic tips from listeners, and would verify them through our resources such as websites and live traffic cameras

ASPIRING STAND-UP COMEDIAN

 

  • Started pursuing stand-up comedy in 2015 with early success and results.  Has performed in cities around the world, including Beijing, Toronto, and Los Angeles.  

  • Has opened for several international headline comics such as Ahmed Ahmed, Tony Woods, Kate Willett, Mike Ward, Mike Vechionne, and Nazeem Hussein. 

  • Finalist of the 2017 Hong Kong International Comedy Competition
